Basil Hayden Malted Rye is the Jim Beam brand's gentlest rye, made from a mashbill of 100% malted rye, which brings the nutty, bready softness of malt to the grain's natural spice. It is bottled at Basil Hayden's signature 40% ABV (80 proof).Drinkhacker rated it an A- and singled out its approachability: cut grass, rosemary and sage on the nose cut with black cherry, vanilla and mint, then fresh lawn trimmings, sage and black tea moving into vanilla custard, toasted coconut and baking spice on the palate, with nutty notes building toward a finish of brown sugar and nougat. The reviewer noted it lacks the throat burn of a typical rye and drinks almost like a bourbon. It is an ideal rye for new whiskey drinkers, and a soft, elegant Old Fashioned.Buy Basil Hayden Malted Rye Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
